angelCoffee Angel has added another body cast angel sculpture to the shop at Brandon Terrace.

“Odette” by Mark Rees is inspired by his Mother “Odette” and also the work of George Segal (1924-2000) and Anthony Gormley, Mark Rees’ new sculpture is body cast and uses modroc and cardboard, combined with beads and marbles to reflect light.

The sculpture, although iconic, is designed to bring hope and welcome to everyone and reflects Gormley’s belief that everyone has a guardian angel.

“Odette” joins an already established body cast angel on display at Coffee Angel, Brandon Terrace forming a mini exhibition for the festival period.

Artist Profile:
Mark Rees graduated from Wimbledon School of Art in 1985 and spent 10 years in industry working as a stone-mason, printer and swimming instructor. Mark qualified as a teacher in 1990 and first started work
